est Podcast in TESOL by a long shot!

★★★★★ in Apple Podcasts by Aaron Teacher from United Kingdom on August 24, 2019

I’ve been listening to these podcasts for over a year now. I am sure I have managed to listen to all of them. Apart from their fantastic line up of speakers from world renowned Universities as well as leading writers, academics and teachers, they also set out a fantastic format and arrangement for each podcast, meaning you are not having to sift through ‘meaningless chit chat’. Rather, Ross and Tracy’s’ podcasts ensure that within a condensed period of time (around 15’ minutes), you are only being introduced to the highlights and golden nugget insights of the foreign /second language learning and teaching world. I also love their regular guests (David, Simon & Matt), who always bring a continuous stream of innovative and out of the box ideas regarding research and pedagogy. Lastly, and most importantly, this is not a talking shop, the podcast always focuses on weaving theory with pedagogical practice, and pedagogical practice with theory. They provide practical examples of how to implement learning theory, as well as ensuring their personal experiences are grounded with contextually relevant factors, encouraging other teachers to do the same. I strongly recommend this podcast to any teacher in EFL or ESL, as a way to enrich and diversify their thinking about language learning and classroom practice.

I am an ESL teacher and I follow quite a few TESOL podcasts. This is by far the most inspiring one not just because of the quality of the content but also the passion of hosts.

The format is excellent and there isn’t much fluff. It’s all valuable information and I see myself implementing the concepts almost immediately in the classroom. I get so, so much out of this podcast and am able to do so on my walk to work or making a quick meal. Thank you!!

Great in content for the EFL teacher

★★★★ in Apple Podcasts by Mo Sena from USA on August 2, 2017

Love the subjects and tips discussed on the show with s conversational tone. There's a dearth of info for self employed teachers and the podcast provides some leads and ideas in the competitive market of TEFL.

Good blend of practical & theoretical issues of teaching.

★★★★ in Apple Podcasts by acutia from Ireland on May 29, 2017

Short non-flashy explorations of issues and problems of the classroom and skeptical of both teaching fads, student delusions and teachers uncritical common sense. With admirable brevity, useful supporting links and lack of excessive chit chat.

I appreciate that Ross and Tracy keep their episodes to around 15 minutes long yet pack them with practical tips English language teachers can apply immediately. I enjoy listening to their exchanges of ideas as they are each so knowledgeable and experienced but still humble and open.

This podcast is a great way to get some ideas flowing and to keep up to date with current approaches and findings. Doesn't matter if you're new to teaching, doing your DELTA, or working as a DOS or Teacher Trainer - plenty of good ideas for all. Highly recommended.
